About Dr. Sproule

Dr. Sproule graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1954 as an electrical engineer and practiced engineering with General Motors from 1954 to 1965. He worked on the design and development of the T56 turbo-prop engine which is the current power plant for the famous C-130’s serving in every battle zone in 2004. With the rank of Senior Experimental Engineer, he resigned from GM in 1965 to enter the ministry. He received his Th.M. degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1969 and the Th.D. degree from Grace Theological Seminary in 1981.
He has held professorships at Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, Ala. (1970-76), Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana (1976-86), and Capital Bible Seminary in Lanham, Maryland (1986-94). His field of expertise is N.T. Literature and Exegesis and his primary studies over the past 35 years have been N.T. Greek and Theology. Dr. Sproule served as President of Washington Bible College and Capital Bible Seminary from 1991 to 1994.
Dr. Sproule has conducted Bible conference ministries and pastors conferences in the USA and internationally (Canada and Germany and Scotland) and is currently engaged in Bible conference ministries. During his tenure at Capital Bible Seminary, Dr. Sproule had the privilege of teaching over 100 midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD an overview of the Epistle to the Romans and the Epistle to the Hebrews. He has a great love for dynamic Bible exposition. His academic expertise is in the fields of theology and New Testament Greek studies. He is the primary translator of the "Epistle to the Romans" in the New King James Version and is the author of several articles published in theological journals and newsletters. He is the author of In Defense of Pre-Tribulationism, published by BMH Books, Winona Lake, Indiana.
Dr. Sproule now resides near Montevallo, Alabama and is engaged in Bible conference ministries, writing for publication, and adjunct professorships. The ministry was incorporated in April 1997 as the John Sproule Ministries, Inc. Dr. Sproule serves as the President.
